About Skepfeeds
An avid skeptical blog reader, I was at times overwhelmed with the sheer amount of skeptical blog entries being posted every day. It is hard to read through all of these blogs without having to endure some quite irrelevant entries (from the skeptical point of view). I wondered how would it be possible to weed out the irrelevant and get all the best entries in one place for everyone to read.
I was sure there was no easy way to do that. No automated software can easily distinguish a good skeptical blog entry from a dull one, the technology is not there. I realized that nothing can beat a human being, actually reading and picking out the best entries. So that is what I decided to do. It is my intention to peruse any worthy skeptical blogs daily and repost here at Skepfeeds, what I believe, to be the best entries of the day .
I believe there are no copyright problems as long as I link directly to each original post. I will nevertheless try everything possible to get permission from the blog owners before I do this. I expect and hope that all blog writers will willingly allow me to repost their entries.
I want to make it clear that any entry will be posted verbatim, with no introduction, comment or any sort of alteration from my part. The original authors will get full credit and every re-post will have two links to the original entry, one at the top and one at the bottom (as per the suggestion/commandment of the almighty God from Stuff God Hates) . The title and content, category classification and such will not be altered in any way. The only change I am thinking of doing is labeling each entry with the original category the author choose at his blog, and a second category being the name of the blog, to facilitate readers to filter quickly by blog name.
UPDATE – 01/30/09
This is just a quick update about the format of the blog. While some blog authors have readily agreed to have their entries reposted here at Skepfeeds, others did not. As such only the first few paragraphs of entries from these blogs will be quoted here with a link to the full entry at the original blog. Original entries by me will still be featured here at Skepfeeds from time to time.

You’re in!
This has been bugging me. If space is curved, how far does one have to travel before one comes back upon ones starting point ?
My blog is more about atheism vs religion then pure skepticism, but I do a good number of skeptically based posts as well:

You’re more than welcome. Atheism, can be a branch of skepticism (unless you’re Bill Maher in which case is its own weird thing!). I have subscribed to your feed and will keep an eye out for your entries.
Another skeptical and cirtical thinking website for you:
Digital Bits Skeptic

While I (Andy Kaiser) create, edit and podcast the thing, I’m only responsible for a small percentage of its content. The rest is from my many paid writers. We write about all things interesting to the skeptical and critcial thinking community.
We’re always looking for new writers, and I’m always eager to get the word out that we exist. So thanks for this forum!

Sure, I’ll keep an eye on this website as well.
My original intent in visiting this site was to find out why your site got top billing today in the Google Blog search for the term “woo”. I was happy to see a skeptical blog in that position, though I lament that it wasn’t mine. Keep up the good work.
Nice idea, let’s see how it evolves! Have a look at Journey through a Burning Mind if you wish. Lots of skeptical posts.
Cheers!

Have you seen “Studies in Crap”? Every week they reprint scans and quotes from ridiculous old books and it’s often full of skeptical goodness. (and funny.) This week’s is about a textbook called “Science for Christian Schools.”

Absolutely. That’s why I love Google Reader, makes it easy for me to keep an eye on other blogs. Thanks for the interest.
My preference is to the short quotation with link to the original method, also. Thanks!
Hi Jim, I would love to have my blog included in your feed – http://rainbowofchaos.wordpress.com
Thanks 🙂
Jim is just a commenter, Skepdude is the blog owner, and I’ll subscribe to your blog in my Reader.
How did I not find this sooner? Great idea! Could you include my blog in your feed as well? esattezza@wordpress.com. It’s not much yet, but I have a skeptical attitude and once classes stop in grad school, the post number will climb steadily.
Absolutely, will subscribe to your blog on my RSS reader. Thank you.
I believe you started something. Mine is a mishmash of humor, skeptical and or absurd. If you’ll have me I’d love it
